Can I go swimming at the beach?

Swimming in nearby beach waters is strictly prohibited due to dangerous riptides. Swimming is allowed near the ferry dock and at Fort Casey State Park beaches.

Can we have fires on the beach?

No, there are no fires allowed on the beach. Inquire about renting one of our fire pits.

Is the Colonel’s House available to rent?

The Colonel’s House is unavailable to rent out to the public. It is reserved for Seattle Pacific University sponsored events and activities.

Who can stay at Camp Casey?

Anyone can stay at Camp Casey! We can accommodate families, sports camps, church retreats, etc. 

Are you affiliated with Fort Casey State Park?

We are not affiliated with Fort Casey State Park. We are a private property owned by Seattle Pacific University.

I’m an SPU alum. Can we stay anywhere other than the Alumni House?

Yes, SPU alumni can stay in other buildings, too, and qualify for a discount.

I’m a faculty/staff  member at SPU. Can I stay anywhere other than the Faculty House?

Yes, faculty/staff can stay in other buildings, too.  Staff/faculty also receive a discount on their stay.

Can my group eat in the Mess Hall at Camp Casey?

You are able to add meals on to your reservation. We have an on-site cater that serves meals out of our Mess Hall A. Often there is a minimum count for meals of 20.

What if we want to cook our own meals?

Some buildings come equipped with kitchens. Our BBQ/picnic area can also be rented out and utilized for group cooking.

Where can I get groceries?

The nearest grocery store is Prairie Center Red Apple Market.

Where can I buy wood? Propane?

Wood and propane are available at the local gas station.

Can my group use the fields or do we have to pay for them?

Groups will have to reserve and pay for field usage, if they would like dedicated space.

Is the pool open?

The pool is currently closed without a timeline for reopening.

Why is Camp Casey owned by SPU?

When Fort Casey was decommissioned in the 1950’s, SPU purchased the property and turned it into a conference center.

What is the Fort Casey Inn?

The Fort Casey Inn is our sister lodging adjacent to Camp Casey. This property is similar to a hotel or an Airbnb.

What is there to do while staying at Camp Casey?

We have many fun activities you can enjoy while staying at Camp Casey. Some of our favorites are touring nearby Fort Casey State Park, exploring hiking trails around the area, and visiting the shops, galleries, and restaurants of downtown Coupeville. Visit our local activities page. 

Can we use the fire pits by the beach?

The fire pits are not open to the public. Inquire with us about renting, if you are a Camp Casey lodging guest.

Do you have sports equipment we can use?

Yes, we have various sports equipment available to rent. (basketballs, soccer balls, frisbees, etc).

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed in Camp Casey buildings or overnight on-site. It is permissible to walk pets on a leash on the grounds.

Is alcohol allowed?

No, alcohol is not permitted on the property.

Can we bring a grill?

 We have a BBQ/picnic area that is available to rent. Or you can bring your grill to a designated location, once reserved for your group. Some of the lodging have grills nearby for guest use.s
